It's official. At approximately 10am this morning I finished my first draft of my YA title. All 52,000 words of it. Woohoo! I don't think I've ever written that many words in one go and certainly not with the intention that they all make sense one after the other. To be honest I'm not entirely sure that they do now but that isn't the point this morning. The point is I have finished, exactly one month behind schedule but still. (I like giving myself schedules almost as much as I like writing lists.)
I'm going to take a break from my manuscript during June, work on my neglected short stories, enter competitions, drink wine with my friends, actually spend time in the sunshine at weekends instead of hiding away at my laptop (if there is any sunshine). Then I'll spend the rest of the summer editing my little heart out and hoping those 52,000 words do hang together after all...

Wow, what an achievement! Good luck with your editing! x
It's a great achievement to actually complete a work of fiction. You should be very proud of yourself! Hope this works out for you.
