home sweet home

I got back last night from a very relaxing week in North Wales. I may not have got much of a tan but I did manage to read 3 books, catch up on lots of sleep, go for long coastal walks, try archery, visit a sea zoo, go clay pigeon shooting (first time I'd ever fired a shotgun) and go out onto the sea for a bit of fishing where I'm pleased to report, I caught a mackerel.

I ended up coming back to London with a bit of a bump. Getting in last night I discovered our landlord's handyman (think Manuel from Faulty Towers) had fitted a dishwasher in our absence. Which is somewhat annoying given that we've only just 6 weeks left here. But what was even more annoying is that they managed to break 2 cupboards in the process which haven't yet been fixed. So my kitchen was covered in piles of plates, cups, and bowls. Nice. Added to which my housemate who has gone away for the weekend had left her washing up from the day before and hadn't taken any rubbish out in what appears to be a few days. It took me an hour to sort out and wasn't the best thing to come home too...

On the bright side, I did also come back to an email letting me know that another one of my short stories 'Naked' has been published online in Issue 37 of Blank Pages. Anyway back to work tomorrow and back to flat hunting. We've got 4 places lined up to go and see so it promsies to be a busy evening. Fingers crossed we find the perfect flat!
