to decorate or not to decorate

I never thought it would happen to me. I never thought I'd become the type of person who willingly browsed through the home sections of department stores. The type of person who sees a kitchen item, like these recycled glasses, and makes a mental note to purchase them at a later date (when I actually have my own kitchen). I say 'my' own kitchen because although it will also be shared with my boyfriend, we both know that really, it will be my domain, except when the washing up needs to be done of course. 


Whilst I am not looking forward to the packing up and actual moving of all my stuff, I cannot wait to live with just one other person. Both the flat I live in now and my housemates are lovely, but I've been in shared accommodation for 7 years and am pretty much over it. My boyfriend is a Designer and seems to have the misguided impression that this means he will be in charge of the decor. A friend of mine suggested I barter Sky Sports for things I want, like an excess of cushions and expensive set of kitchen knives. But forgiveness has always been easier to gain than permission so I think I'll just smuggle in the things I want and either claim I've always had them in a box somewhere, or just hope he's too distracted by Sky Sports to notice!
