wasting time
Why is it that as soon as you know you really have to do something, you spend all your available time doing anything else instead? It was the same when I was a student, I'd have essays to write and revision to do but instead would suddenly decide it was a great idea to do all my laundry, or alphabetise my bookcase. I'm just joking, I've never alphabetised my bookcase! I arrange by genre although I do have one friend whose bookcase is colour co-ordinated, but then as she says, when do you ever feel like reading a red book? Anyway, I digress. The point is, I have told myself all week that I will sit down and edit my final chapters on Saturday and now that the weekend is here and I am finally sat down, laptop on, I can't seem to just get on with it. I've made myself tea, re-potted a few plants, checked out facebook and am even blogging instead of editing. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to exhaust all other possible forms of distraction before I get down to the actual editing because I'm out for dinner this evening. So I'll have to use every ounce of willpower to just shut up and write now. Which includes blogging too I suppose...
